Now, I just love the Kindle Paperwhite. I have been using mine for over a year now, and the thing is awesome. The Paperwhite is a subject that I am very familiar with. Ask me anything, and I will have an answer. Recently, though, I got the shock of my life while Googling. Apparently, there are people out there who are looking for tempered glass for their Kindle Paperwhites! That’s crazy! You don’t need that!
The Paperwhite’s is great as it is
The Paperwhite, whether you have the 10th Generation or any other generation, is one of the best e-ink readers that you are going to be able to find out there. It was designed to specifically mimic the experience of reading real paper books. The e-ink display allows you to read your books even in broad daylight. There is hardly any glare to talk about. But what happens when you introduce a tempered glass facade onto the screen?
The result of doing this are tragic, to say the least. Most tempered glass screen protectors that are out there will only serve to introduce glare on the screen. It removes all the joys of owning the device. If you insist on doing it, you shouldn’t buy the Paperwhite at all. Rather, stick to your tablet. Read books on there and you will have all the glare that you are looking for!
Tempered Glass on a Kindle Paperwhite: Am I getting emotional?
I know, this subject really gets me emotional. The Paperwhite only costs $100 or so, for crying out loud. It’s not like an iPhone or anything that you would be worried about damaging. I personally use my Paperwhite as is. Should the thing’s screen get scratched, then so be it. Should it fall and break into pieces, then it will be a perfect excuse to get the latest version.
Anyway, here is something that you need to know; I am an obsessive reader. I read a novel every day. And there is not one scratch on my Paperwhite. So, why should other people who hardly ever use theirs worry so much that they are willing to introduce tempered glass on their gadgets? Just to repeat myself, no, you should never put tempered glass on a Kindle Paperwhite.
